Scenes from Kenya — June 2008

more pictures (Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Kenya)

It was a blessing and an honor to be able to visit Sacred Heart Parish Nyang’oma in Kenya. Our mission was to take the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart to the parish and surrounding schools and institutions. Father William had said the people there had a great love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and that they would love to hear about the Enthronement to further their faith journey. He asked if we would go and hold a retreat about the Enthronement – ending with ceremonies enthroning the Sacred Heart of Jesus as King and Head of the Parish, the surrounding Schools, Dispensary, Orphanage, Convent, the Brother’s residence, the Rectory and families. These pictures are just a few of many that show our travels. With Father William, we visited schools, sub-parishes, the community, his family along with many other places. We met and were thanked by countless people for all the donations that had been sent from the people of Knoxville and Oak Ridge to help with schools and the recreation center that will be built next year. It was truly humbling for all of us to be able to represent our diocese. God truly blessed us through this mission…thank you all for your prayers. – Lisa Morris, Elizabeth Morris and Kristie Hopwood
