“Parents are the most influential agents of catechesis for their children.
They have a unique responsibility for the education of their children;
they are the first educators, or catechists.
They catechize primarily by the witness of their Christian lives and by their love for the faith. ”
National Directory for Catechesis p 727

Religious Education always begins at home. The most important thing that parents can do for their child’s faith formation is to take them to Mass every Sunday; to make the Eucharist a priority in their lives.

Religious Education classes for students (4-year olds, Grades K-8, and senior high) meet on Sunday mornings from 10:05 – 10:55 am beginning in late August.

Our goal is to allow the children to experience their Catholic identity while integrating Catholic values into their daily lives. We share the richness of our Catholic traditions with an eye toward developing the skills needed to meet the challenges of the future. The CCD classes participate with the parish school in sacramental activities such as First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.

Ongoing adult classes are also available and open to new members at any time.

If you need more information regarding the children’s program, sacramental preparation or adult classes, please contact Brigid Johnson, Director of Religious Education, at 584-4528 or bjohnson@shcknox.org
