If you are interested in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to fellow parishioners, the elderly or the sick, then consider becoming a Communion Minister.
Communion Ministers:
- Distribute the Body and Blood during the Mass as needed.
- May volunteer to take Communion to the sick, hospitalized, shut-ins and those in nursing homes.
- Must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
- Must attend a two-part seminar directed by Deacon Jim Lawson to learn more about their new role. Each part lasts about an hour and a half and includes prayer, theological information and a practicum. The sessions are typically held twice a year.
When will I be needed?
- Ministers are scheduled for the Mass they usually attend.
- Three-to-four-month schedules are available before the effective dates of assignment.
