The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) collaborates with the Pastor to develop the vision for the parish and to plan for the pastoral needs of the community. They work together to call others into the active life of the parish and to be a light for others. Through God’s grace, the work of the Sacred Heart PPC can lead to furthering the mission of the church and the Kingdom of God.
Dear Sacred Heart Cathedral Family,
The Parish Pastoral Council has completed the development of the 5 year strategic pastoral plan. Check out the 2011-16 SHC Strategic Plan here! It includes the History of SHC, Parish Profile, Mission, Vision, Core Values, and the Strategy for the next five years featuring Goals, Objectives and Initiatives.
· Pastoral planning is an ongoing process, which is always Mission motivated and involves discernment, consensus, goal setting, implementation, and evaluation. We need to know where we are going as a parish, and a strategic plan is the means to get us there!
· The Transition Team Report identified the Core Values of Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish as being: WELCOME, WITNESS, WORSHIP, and SERVICE.
· The Pastoral Parish Council has established a new Mission statement and a new vision statement for the parish.
MISSION STATEMENT:
As a cathedral parish, we are a diverse Eucharistic community sharing the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through evangelization, faith formation, and service.
VISION STATEMENT:
We seek to become a vibrant, welcoming and engaged community for the on-going development and living out our faith in Jesus Christ.
