Mission Statement of Catholic Charities of East Tennessee

Empowered by the grace of Jesus Christ, Catholic Charities of East Tennessee Inc. addresses the unmet needs of the most vulnerable of our region by providing shelter, nourishment, counseling, and education in order to foster human dignity.

CCETN is a broad-based social service agency delivering 17 services through 24 programs throughout the region. Its mission is to address the needs of our area, regardless of race, religious affiliation or ability to pay. Fewer than 5 percent of the approximately 17,000 clients served annually are Catholic.

In the Knoxville area, Catholic Charities Residential and Children’s Services include:

Samaritan Place – Emergency shelter, short and long term housing, respite care and adult day services for seniors.

Elizabeth’s Homes – Transitional housing for homeless families who are moving from emergency shelters to permanent homes.

Columbus Home – A housing and treatment program for young people who have been removed from their families due to severe abuse and neglect.
