FISH

If you’re interested in helping feed those in your community who are in need of food, then volunteer to be a member of the Sacred Heart Fish Hospitality Pantry Team.

Here’s how FISH works:

  • People in need of food, whether single or a family of seven, contact the FISH Hospitality Pantry of Knox County at 865.523.7900.
  • The information is forwarded to a delivery team, made up of volunteers from different churches and organizations like Sacred Heart.
  • Sacred Heart’s Fish Team delivers food on the third Friday of every month.

What’s in a food bag?

  • Enough non-perishable food items, such as soup and macaroni & cheese, to feed the family for two to three days.
  • Toiletries and diapers, when available.

How does the Fish Team get the food that’s delivered?

  • From generous people like yourself.
  • We have “Souper Bowl Sunday” to collect cans of soup for the FISH pantry.  (And Yes, it is held on Super Bowl Sunday each year.)
  • Each May, the Sacred Heart congregation takes its turn in stocking the West Knoxville Cooperative Food Pantry. Volunteers buy the food and help sort and bag the items throughout the month.
