From Dave Wells, SHC Faith Formation Director:

Behold_the_Lamb_of_GodDear Parents,

Due to the weather forecast for Friday night, we are making a slight change to the First Reconciliation Service scheduled for Saturday February 21. Father David and the priests of the Cathedral (Fr. Joe, Fr. Arthur and Fr. Adam) will be available to hear confessions at 10:00am on Saturday for any children who are able to make it. There will not be a formal penance service, but they will be in the church at various stations to hear confessions. You may escort your child to the priest, but I would ask you to leave them to remain in line and return to your seat to pray for your child. There will not be a reception, so once your child has returned from Confession and completed the assigned penance, you will be free to leave.

For those who cannot make it to the church on Saturday, your child will have the opportunity to go to confession at the Parish Lenten Penance Service on Tuesday, March 24th at 6:00pm. In addition, your child will be able to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation at any of the following Lenten Penance Services (all services begin at 7:00pm unless otherwise noted):

Wednesday, March 4 – Holy Cross Church, Pigeon Forge
Monday, March 9 – St. Albert the Great, Knoxville
Tuesday, March 10 – Our Lady of Fatima, Alcoa
Wednesday, March 11 – Holy Family, Seymour
Tuesday, March 17 – St. Mary, Gatlinburg
Wednesday, March 18 – St. Joseph the Worker, Madisonville
Monday, March 23 – Immaculate Conception, Knoxville
Wednesday, March 25 (7:30pm) – St. John XXIII, Knoxville

If you cannot make any of the Lenten Penance Services, confessions are held here at the Cathedral on Saturday mornings after the 8:00am Mass.
