Worship Together with Hallow

Dear Cathedral Parish Family,

As we prepare to enter the holy season of Lent beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 18, I would like to personally invite each of you to join our parish in a powerful spiritual journey called Pray40. Lent is a privileged time of grace — a time to return to the Lord with our whole heart and to grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray40 offers us a beautiful, structured way to do just that, together as a Cathedral family. This year’s Pray40 journey brings together inspiring voices from across the Christian community.

You will walk through The Brothers Karamazov with Jonathan Roumie (Jesus in The Chosen), take part in Scripture-based fasting challenges led by award-winning actors Mark Wahlberg and Chris Pratt, and enter into deep prayer through Scripture meditations with Mother Olga of the Daughters of Mary of Nazareth alongside reflections from The Return of the Prodigal Son by Fr. Henri Nouwen. You’ll also pray with Sr. Miriam James Heidland through her beloved imaginative prayer experiences and begin each week with impactful Sunday homilies from Fr. Mike Schmitz, host of the #1 Christian podcast Bible in a Year, helping you live out what you learn throughout Pray40.

My hope is that every household in our Cathedral parish will consider participating. Let us walk these forty days together, asking the Lord to renew our hearts and draw us closer to Him.

Querida Familia de la Catedral,

Al prepararnos para comenzar el santo tiempo de la Cuaresma este Miércoles de Ceniza, 18 de febrero, quiero invitarlos personalmente a unirse como parroquia a una hermosa experiencia espiritual llamada Pray40. La Cuaresma es un tiempo privilegiado de gracia — un tiempo para volver al Señor con todo el corazón y profundizar nuestra relación con Jesucristo. Pray40 nos ofrece una manera concreta y enriquecedora de hacerlo juntos como familia de la Catedral.

Este año, Pray40 reúne voces inspiradoras de toda la comunidad cristiana. Podrán recorrer Los Hermanos Karamazov con Jonathan Roumie (Jesús en The Chosen), participar en desafíos de ayuno basados en la Sagrada Escritura dirigidos por los actores Mark Wahlberg y Chris Pratt, y entrar en una oración profunda con meditaciones bíblicas junto a la Madre Olga de las Hijas de María de Nazaret y reflexiones de El Regreso del Hijo Pródigo del P. Henri Nouwen. También orarán con la Hna. Miriam James Heidland a través de sus experiencias de oración imaginativa, y comenzarán cada semana con homilías dominicales del P.
