The Diocese of Knoxville begins a new era in East Tennessee by presenting the “Living Our Faith” weekend, a series of events on April 18-19 culminating with the official groundbreaking of the new Sacred Heart Cathedral.
“This may be one of the most historic weekends in the history of our diocese,” said Bishop Richard F. Stika. “It is a testament to our growth and it will celebrate our unity and strength as we move toward the future in charity and awareness.”[/text_output][text_output]
Following Jesus Conference
“Living Our Faith” weekend begins Saturday, April 18 at the All Saints Church/Knoxville Catholic HS campus with the “Following Jesus” Conference. Curtis Martin, the founder and CEO of FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students will speak beginning at 9:30 am in the KCHS Gym.

As part of the “Following Jesus” Conference, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York, will be the keynote speaker at 1:30 pm and will celebrate Mass at All Saints at 2:30 pm.

Nearly 200 years of Catholic leadership will be on stage when the Diocese of Knoxville presents “A Conversation with the Cardinals,” Saturday, April 18 at the Tennessee Theatre.
New York Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Cardinal Justin Rigali and Cardinal William Levada will be featured speakers in an entertaining, informative and interactive discussion about the Catholic Church. Bishop Richard F. Stika will moderate the evening.

Cathedral Groundbreaking
On Sunday, April 19, the Diocese of Knoxville lays the foundation for the future with the groundbreaking of a new cathedral that will serve diocesan and parish needs for generations to come. The new cathedral is destined to become a vivid symbol of Catholicism in East Tennessee.
Everyone is invited as Cardinal Justin Rigali celebrates a bilingual Mass and his 80th birthday at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 11:00 am. Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, will be the principal homilist.
