The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026. This act coincides with the 250th anniversary (semiquincentennial) of the Declaration of Independence, aiming to entrust the nation to God’s mercy and moral guidance. Similarly, there will be a special Mass, focused on consecrating the Diocese of Knoxville to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Noon on Friday, June 12, at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
You are invited to be a part of this movement. There are several ways you and your family can participate in this moment of prayer for unity, peace, healing, and renewal for our nation, such as:
- Pray the Sacred Heart Novena June 3-11, leading up to the national consecration
- Consecrate yourself or your family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
- Commit to be part of the national Works of Mercy and Holy Hour campaigns
- Attend Mass on the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Friday, June 12
- Enthrone the Sacred Heart in your home, parish, school, or workplace
On June 12th, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with a special Mass at noon, during which we will reconsecrate our Parish and ourselves to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the video below, please watch Bishop Beckman invite us to dedicate our lives to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In his prayer intention for June, the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Pope Leo XIV encourages us, “Let us pray together that each one of us might find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from His Heart, learn to have compassion on the world.” As we begin this Novena to the Sacred Heart, we join the Holy Father in that prayer.
Lord, I come to Your tender Heart today, to You who have words that set my heart ablaze, to You who pour out compassion on the little ones and the poor, on those who suffer, and on all human miseries. I desire to know You more, to contemplate You in the Gospel, to be with You and learn from You and from the charity with which You allowed Yourself to be touched by all forms of poverty. You showed us the Father’s love by loving us without measure with Your divine and human Heart. Grant all Your children the grace of encountering You. Change, shape, and transform our plans, so that we seek only You in every circumstance: in prayer, in work, in encounters, and in our daily routine. From this encounter, send us out on mission, a mission of compassion for the world in which You are the source from which all consolation flows. Amen.
