Dear Cathedral Parish Family,
Since dedicating our new Cathedral in March of 2018, we have seen tremendous growth on the campus of Sacred Heart.
To put this into perspective, on January 1, 2017, we had 1,317 registered families. As of sending this communication, we now have 2,609 families. Just recently, our YouTube Channel just amassed over 1 million views. So, in just five short years, we have doubled in size, making the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus the largest parish in the Diocese of Knoxville. Astounding!
We love meeting each of you, whether after Mass, at our Newcomer’s Reception, or even during our Food Truck Nights; every parishioner has a story to share on why they chose Sacred Heart as their home. This is why we are emailing today; we want to tell your “Stories from the Heart.”
With Stewardship Weekend just around the corner on September 10, 11, 17, & 18, we want to share the video story of what makes Sacred Heart so unique: YOU! We would like you to submit a short video of why you love the Cathedral.
We have so many families that attend SH in person and parishioners around the world who watch our “Online Parish” on our YouTube Channel; this is the easiest way for us to get to know so many of you. Watch the video below to hear our Director of Evangelization, Youth & Young Adult Ministry, Rick Grinstead, tell his story.
How to Send us Your Video
- Film a short video with your cell phone (holding it horizontally like in the image).
- Do not film in front of a window.
- Tell us your name(also how to spell it, please), where you are from, and why you love the Cathedral.
- The video only needs to be 2-3 minutes.
- When done recording, use the link below to share your video file to a Google folder we have created.
- Then, watch for your video to be posted on YouTube and Facebook.
- Submit video here
Thank You!
We know you dont take selecting a parish lightly, so we are so blessed and grateful that you chose Sacred Heart to be your home away from home. Thank you for helping us tell your story, and may God bless all of you.
In Christ,
Fr. David A. Boettner, V.G., Roman Catholic Diocese of Knoxville, Rector, Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
