We are pleased to announce a parish event that we hope you can attend. We will cover the topics of funeral pre-planning, estate planning, and the Sacred Heart columbarium. This meeting will occur on Sunday, November 19th, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Cathedral Hall. Light refreshments will be provided.
Adam Starkey of Rose-Mann Mortuary (Bearden) will present on funeral pre-planning.
Attorney Bailey Schiermeyer is Certified as an Elder Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. Bailey is a partner at Elder Law of East Tennessee. Her practice focuses on assisting individuals and families with planning for the legal and financial challenges of aging and long-term care situations. She helps clients execute estate plans, enroll in Medicare, evaluate tax strategies, and obtain Veterans and Medicaid benefits. Bailey also devotes much of her practice to special needs planning and advocating for the disability community.
Bailey is accredited with the Veterans Administration and was awarded the American Bar Association’s “On the Rise- Top 40 Young Lawyers Award,” which is awarded to attorneys who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and service to the profession and their communities.
Bailey and her husband, James Schiermeyer, are parishioners at Sacred Heart, and their three children attend the Sacred Heart Cathedral School and Preschool.
Scott Barron is honored to oversee the Columbarium here at the Cathedral. He has managed the space since it opened in 2018. Scott will give an overview of the space and review the process for those who may be interested in purchasing a niche at a later date.
