Please join us on April 6th, as Bishop Richard F. Stika, and Fr. David Boettner, will concelebrate the Noon Mass. After Mass, Bishop Stika and Father David will process outside to bless the new columbarium. The Mass is a normal Mass of Easter, and the blessing of the columbarium is similar to the blessing of a cemetery.
The columbarium is a return to the tradition of burial on church grounds to be near our family and faith community. When cremation is chosen as an option, the dignity we show to our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit still includes an obligation to make arrangements for the burial of the ashes. The natural beauty and tranquility of its location enhance the experience of being in the presence of the communion of saints. The garden is designed for contemplation, prayer, and reflection.
If you have questions regarding the columbarium, you may contact Scott Barron (865.300.6078) or via e-mail at [email protected].
